Elaine Stageberg, MD, MHA: Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Black Swan Real Estate
Dr. Elaine Stageberg is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Black Swan Real Estate. Since co-founding the company in 2011, she has raised more than $115 million from nearly 600 investors, with no capital calls, no missed distributions, and no lost investor capital in fifteen years.
Elaine received her MD and MHA from the University of Oklahoma and completed her psychiatry training at the Mayo Clinic, the #1 rated hospital in the world. That training gave her a deep understanding of what drives people and how to help them build a better version of their lives, and it shapes how she leads, how she invests, and how she teaches. A national presenter and mentor to physicians and investors from all walks of life, she shows her audiences that real estate is the most powerful way to leverage mindset, turning paychecks into prosperity and prosperity into legacy.
Elaine and her husband Nick live in Rochester, Minnesota with their six children.
Nick Stageberg: President, Black Swan Living
Nick Stageberg is the President of Black Swan Living, the property management company inside Black Swan Real Estate, and the operator behind the firm’s deep vertical integration. He leads day-to-day operations across more than 2,700 doors, running the leasing, construction, and maintenance teams that care for every property the firm owns.
Before real estate, Nick built his first career in enterprise software. Over nine years his first startup grew from $13 million in venture capital to a $100 million private equity sale, and he went on to help the Mayo Clinic launch a software development startup, where he led 13 teams of engineers within three years. Nick brought the tools and management techniques of the technology world with him, and that operating system gives Black Swan an advantage that legacy firms in this industry cannot match.
